White Noise is a messenger with no phone number, no email, and no account on
anyone's server. Your identity is a cryptographic key that belongs to you,
and your messages are readable only by the people you send them to.
Built on the open Nostr network and the Marmot protocol, an implementation
of MLS (RFC 9420), the standard for end-to-end encrypted group messaging.
No phone number. Create an identity in seconds. Use your real name, a
pseudonym, or nothing at all, and keep separate profiles for separate parts
of your life, in one app.
Encrypted end to end. Every message, reply, reaction and photo is encrypted
with keys that exist only on your devices. Forward secrecy and post-compromise
security are built into the protocol, not bolted on.
No central server. Your messages travel through relays: independent servers
you choose, run by anyone, replaceable at any time. You can even run your own.
There is no company server to breach, subpoena, or shut down.
An identity you keep. Your key works across the whole Nostr ecosystem. Switch
apps, keep your contacts. No one can lock you out of your own identity.
Your agents, encrypted too. Agents running on your own machines can hold
their own keys and chat with you like any other contact. End-to-end encrypted,
