PsstPsst Decentralized, end-to-end encrypted messaging. No phone number required. PsstPsst is a free, open-source messenger for Android, iOS, and desktop. Your cryptographic keys are your account: get started without a phone number or email address, and exchange encrypted messages over Nostr or nearby Bluetooth. Private conversations Send end-to-end encrypted one-to-one messages, photos, videos, files, and voice messages. Keep conversations flowing with replies, reactions, and forwarding. Your keys, your account Create an identity without a central account provider. Use an optional Nostr name to make it easier for people to find you. Stay close, even offline Exchange messages and files with compatible PsstPsst peers over Bluetooth Low Energy, without internet access. Connect your wallet Connect a non-custodial Lightning wallet through Nostr Wallet Connect. Make it yours Choose light or dark mode and your preferred accent color, with layouts that adapt to mobile and desktop screens. Before you start Messaging currently supports one-to-one conversations. Private messaging requires compatible peers; support for Nostr alone does not guarantee interoperability. Nearby requires Bluetooth permissions and hardware/OS support. Range, transfer speed, and background availability depend on your device. Android background notifications use a foreground service and are subject to battery restrictions. Delivery is best-effort. Back up your identity key and use key transfer and chat-history export/import when moving devices. An identity-key backup alone does not guarantee recovery of encrypted chat history.
