DeBurrow is a modern, native Android client for the Gopher protocol — the pre-web,
text-first way to browse "Gopherspace". Built with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.

Features:

  • Browse Gopher menus, read text files, and view images
  • ANSI-color and word-wrapping text viewer — colored .ansi art renders in color, with a
one-tap toggle to no-wrap for fixed-width maps and tables
  • Veronica / type-7 search with a query prompt and tappable results
  • Address-bar navigation, bookmarks, browse history, and search history
  • Downloads for binary items, response caching, and TLS (gophers://)
  • Opens gopher:// and gophers:// links from other apps, even while running
  • Material 3 theming and an adaptive (and Android 13 themed) launcher icon

No accounts, no trackers, no ads. Free and open source (MIT).

DeBurrow is a modern evolution of "Pocket Gopher", a 2010 J2ME client by Felix Pleșoianu,
