Radius is for small paid jobs near you.
You post a job with an amount on it. Phones around you pick it up over
Bluetooth and pass it along to phones further out. Someone nearby claims it,
does it, and gets paid.
There is no server and no account. Nothing is uploaded anywhere, which means
it works with no internet at all, and the people who see your job are the
people close enough to actually do it.
HOW IT WORKS
Every phone makes its own identity on first launch, held in the Keychain or
Keystore. People know each other by a short label derived from it. There is
nothing to sign up for.
A bounty is one signed record. It floods over Bluetooth LE, gets relayed by
the phones in between, and is republished on a slow cadence so the board
converges. Anyone can forward it. Only the key that signed the first record
for that id can revise it.
Claims are private. They travel inside an encrypted Noise session between the
claimant and the poster.
When there is internet, public Nostr relays carry the same encrypted frames
as a fallback, so two phones that met over the radio can still reach each
other later. Bluetooth is always tried first.
WITNESSED COMPLETION
When a claimant marks a job done, the phones physically in radio range
co-sign that they heard it.
A witness signature is only ever produced for something heard over the radio,
never for something that arrived through a relay. Relay traffic can come from
anywhere on earth. Radio traffic cannot. So a finished job carries signatures
from devices that were actually there.
PRIVACY
No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, no tracking.
There is no backend to send anything to. The Bluetooth permission is declared
neverForLocation, because the radio is used to find other phones running
Radius and for nothing else.
